  • Day 1: Pick up the car at Bari airport. Arrival at the hotel, check-in. In the afternoon, guided tour of the city of Bari, the seafront, the historic center, the Basilica of San Nicola, the Cathedral, the Swabian Castle. During the transition from one monument to another, you will be guided through the characteristic labyrinth of streets of the old city to discover the arches and courtyards typical of local urban planning, the lesser-known museums, churches, and the hidden stories behind the street names. At the end, you can taste the typical Barese aperitif: focaccia, panzerotti, and beer, naturally Peroni. Return to the hotel.
  • Day 2: Bari is a perfect starting point to discover some of the most suggestive places in Puglia. You can choose to dedicate an entire day to visiting nearby Matera, certainly the most important place in Basilicata. It is one of the oldest cities in the world, famous for its “Sassi”, ancient districts carved into the rock, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A tour in Matera offers a journey through the history, art, and millenary culture of this unique city in the world. Or you can dedicate your day to discovering the beauties north of the Apulian capital.

Trani, an ancient and enchanting village of light stone overlooking the beautiful port, a meeting place and evening nightlife area.

Castel del Monte, an imposing medieval fortress built by Emperor Frederick II of Swabia in the 13th century, famous for the uniqueness of its octagonal shape with eight corner towers and its mysterious symbolism. You will visit the main entrance, the inner courtyard, and the lower and upper floors. A suggestive atmosphere rich in art and mystery.

  • Day 3: You can dedicate the day to discovering the beauties south of Bari and then continue the journey towards Lecce.

Alberobello, the monumental village of Trulli in the Itria Valley, famous for its Trulli, structures built dry with overlapping stones and decorated conical roofs, dating back to the mid-16th century and since 1996 included in one of the 50 most famous UNESCO sites in the world.

Locorotondo, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and the Itria Valley in Puglia. Its name means “round place”, referring to the circular shape of the historic center, a labyrinth of white alleys and narrow stone-paved streets, surrounded by whitewashed houses with pointed roofs called “cummerse”. Walking through the streets of the village, you can appreciate the quiet atmosphere and the enchanting flowered facades of the houses.

  • Day 4: Depending on the season, you can decide to dedicate a day to relaxation on one of the beautiful beaches of Salento or dedicate the day to discovering the villages of the Salentine Greece and the most beautiful and famous towns in the province of Lecce.

Otranto A true jewel of Salento, with its ancient village and its artistic treasures, it is the easternmost town of the boot and is a place rich in history and culture, but also of natural beauties such as its beaches and crystal-clear sea.

Gallipoli Called the Pearl of the Ionian, the town is divided into two parts connected by a bridge. On one side we find the Historic Center, the ancient part of Gallipoli surrounded by the ancient bastions and walls more than a kilometer long, and on the other the Borgo, the modern part of the city. The Ionian coast of Salento will fascinate you with the beauty of its sea and its white beaches.

The villages of the Salentine Greece, a group of municipalities in the heart of Salento, where Griko, an ancient language of Greek origin, is still spoken. This area is an important symbol of the presence and influence of Greece in southern Italy. Among the most important villages, we remember:

Calimera: means “good morning” in modern Greek, a clear sign of the Hellenic roots of the area. This town is the heart of the Salentine Greece, known for the Civic Museum of Natural History of Salento and the fertility stone, an ancient megalithic monument with a hole in the center.

Martano: one of the largest centers of the Salentine Greece, with a rich historical and architectural heritage. Not to be missed are the Mother Church and the menhirs of the area, ancient prehistoric monuments.

Corigliano d’Otranto: known for its Castle, one of the best-preserved in Salento, with a beautiful Renaissance courtyard.

After lunch, departure for the return to Bari, with a stop along the way to visit Ostuni, the famous White City due to its characteristic historic center which was once entirely painted with white lime. You can enjoy a walk in the alleys of the historic center, tasting good ice cream or a gourmet aperitif before returning.
